It’s impossible to resist the charm of the Dolomites, the only mountains in the world that evoke such strong emotions and passion. You don’t need to climb 8000 meters to feel like you’re touching the sky and feel in paradise. You can go up to Torri delle Tofane admiring from above the Cortina d’Ampezzo valley, walk around Val Lastier in the Sella, through its high canyons. You can also admire the view from the Nuvolau, the first refuge ever built in the Dolomites. You don’t need to imagine all of this thanks to Jonas, your tour guide is waiting for you!

PROGRAM

SUNDAY: Afternoon arrival in the hotel. For those who wish, during our stay, the hotel offers a wellness center open from 16 to 19, with sauna, Whirlpool, Turkish bath, and Tropical shower. Meeting with the guide, dinner, and a short briefing.
MONDAY: After breakfast, we drive to Passo Fedaia. Our week commences with a circular excursion over the Marmolada glacier, the Feldaia Lake below, and the Sella Group. We walk together along the lakeside, looking at its blue waters. After crossing the dam, we begin our ascent to Porta Vescovo (2478m). From here, a spacious path will take us to Padon’s refuge (2407m). From the refuge’s terrace, we can be stunned by an unparalleled view of the Queen of the Dolomites. After lunch in the refuge, we descend to Passo Fedaio, closing our circular tour. We head back to the hotel for some relax, then dinner together. For those who wish, a walk under the moonlight along the shores of Alleghe Lake. Length and inclination: 4-5h +600 m -600 m
TUESDAY: Today’s destination is the Sella group, a castle made of rocks full of spectacular shapes. From below, the Sella looks completely inaccessible, but it’s not the case: our itinerary goes through the wild Val Lasties, a deep carving that reaches the heart of the mountain. Val Lasties is known for its high overhanging canyons, reaching over 500 m. We go up to 2840 m high to Antersass fork, from where we can admire the Berger Tower. We then proceed to Antersass (2907 m) to then easily descend to Boè’s refuge, where we can rest for a bit. Then, from Pordoi fork, we descend to the Pass. Alternatively, there’s the possibility of descending using the ski lifts of Sass Pordoi. Length and inclination: 6-7h +1100m -700m
WEDNESDAY: Free day. For mountain lovers, we recommend Marmolada: from Malga Ciapela, with a cableway that takes you to Coston d’Antermoja (2350 m). Another cableway will take you to Serauta (2950 m), followed by a third that takes you to Punta Rocca (3265 m), in front of the highest point of the Dolomites, Punta Penia. Before stepping into the glacier, pop by Madonna’s Cave, then take the lift to the panoramic terrace of Marmolada. Admire the beauty of the breathtaking view on this UNESCO World Heritage natural monument. After a brief walk, we can go back to Serauta with the cableway, where we can find the Great War Museum. We can have lunch in the restaurant facing the Sacred Monumental Area. Here, trenches, walkways, and galleries help to realize how capable the Alpines truly were, along with the sacrifices they were forced to make. Alternatively, you can drive to Arabba and Pordoi pass, take the cableway to Sass Pordoi (2999 m). Here we can admire a gorgeous view and maybe start an excursion to Piz Boè (3152 m). If you prefer staying at low altitudes, we recommend a stroll along Alleghe Lake and a visit to Serrai di Sottoguda, a 2 km long natural gorge. We gather back together for dinner, followed by a leisurely walk under Sasso Bianco.
THURSDAY: Following breakfast, we drive to Passo Falzarego (2105 m). Our destination today is Tofane group, part of the Dolomiti Ampezzane Natural Park. During our ascent, we stumble upon many galleries, trenches, and stations dating back to the Great War. At the base of the Falzarego towers, whose walls are often attended by climbers, we can see the remains of a military hospital. At the Col dei Bos fork (2331 m), we can admire a breathtaking view of the Gran Lagazuoi and the Fanes’ peaks. From this point of view, we can also look at the boulders that were masterfully excavated by the Austro Hungarian army. Later, we descend through the wild Val Travenanszes, to then reach the Masarè glacial circus and the Giussani’s refuge (2561 m). After lunch in the Refuge, we can conclude our tour around the Tofana di Rozes in the Fontananegra valley. Back in the hotel, we rest and have dinner with a barbeque in the woods. Length and inclination: 7-8h +1000 -1000
FRIDAY: After breakfast, we drive to Passo Giau (2236 m). Today we have another circular excursion to the Five Towers (a well-known paradise for climbers), Averau, and Nuvolau mountains (2574 m). The Nuvolau’s refuge is popular for its spectacular view to the Marmolada, Civetta, Cristallo, Tofane, Sorapiss, Antelao, and many more famous peaks of the area. Established in 1883, Nuvolau is the first alpine refuge ever built in the Dolomites. In the afternoon, we can descend to the starting point of our excursion through the ski lift. Alternatively, we can walk with the guide down the path back to Passo Giau. In the hotel, we have time to rest and have a final dinner together. Length and inclination: 5-6h +600m -600m
SATURDAY: After breakfast, we say goodbye to the Dolomites and its Queen. Bye-bye!
Important: Program may vary depending on weather conditions and guide decisions.
