Snow trekking for singles in the Little Dolomites – New Year’s and Epiphany

The Little Dolomites are perfect for spending the holidays with other singles while trekking in snow-covered woods and magical landscapes.

The perfect recipe of a holiday includes people that share your lifestyle, your passion for the mountains, and the need for physical activity in nature. If you love trekking in the snow surrounded by breathtaking landscapes, this is the place for you. Our Naturalistic Guide will be essential, thanks to their knowledge of the plants and animals of the area. Put on your snowshoes and get ready for day-and-night excursions in this majestic place.

PROGRAM

First day: arrival in the afternoon. After dinner we go out for a night excursion, taking in the Christmas magic of the area. We can explore the Mineral Water Source in Recoaro or walk the moonlit path of Colle di Santa Giulia, where we can find a WWII bunker. Back to the hotel, we can cozy up in front of the chimney.
Second day: We head to Gazza Valley, where we walk through lush woods to the Catena delle Tre Croci peaks. Walking with snowshoes is incredibly easy and allows us to walk in snowy and desolate woods. We can have lunch in the refuge and then head back to the hotel for the afternoon.
Third day: After breakfast, we are headed to Campogrosso, right in the heart of the Little Dolomites. We take a panoramic walk to Campogrosso’s Peak to admire the view of the hills and the Vicenza plain. For lunch, you can have some typical mountain products in the refuge. We then have dinner with local food.
Fourth day: We leave for a quiet trekking excursion in the Great Trees path. We can admire the legendary trees exuding history and myths. We then stop by the refuge for an afternoon of music and fun together! In the hotel, we rest for a bit to get ready for our big dinner and festivities. For the Epiphany program, we are going to the main square for the famous Rogo della Stria, the witch burning. Happy holidays!
The fifth day: it’s time to say goodbye, see you soon!
Important: onsite transportation with own car. In the absence of snow, the tour will be converted into a trekking holiday.

HOW TO GET THERE
We recommend getting here by car as the short movements from location to location will require the participants’ cars. The excursions starting points are 10-20 minutes away from the hotel. We remind that if you decide to use public transport, you will share expenses with who is providing their own car.
By car: from A4 Milan-Venice motorway, exit at Alte-Montecchio, proceed to Recoaro. From A31 Valdastico motorway, exit at Thiene, direction Schio/Recoaro. From Vicenza, Recoaro can be reached via Montecchio and then up to the Valle dell’Agno from Trissino. Attention! Set Recoaro Terme on the navigator and not the hotel address as the GPS will suggest a longer route.
By train: the closest train station to Recoaro is Vicenza. From Vicenza station get a bus. For tickets, an automatic ticket machine is available next to the station. Alternatively, ask inside. If you are unable to buy the ticket beforehand, you can buy it on board with a fee.
By bus: Vicenza SVT, Società Vicentina Trasporti, offers direct corrections to Recoaro. For more info call 0444223111. For timetables check LINEA 1 on www.svt.vi.it/
By plane: the closest airports are Venice Marco Polo and Catullo Verona Villafranca. The hotel is right in the Recoaro Terme town center.

USEFUL INFORMATION
The guide is a Naturalistic Guide or an Alpine one, an expert of nature and mountains. Their role is as guide and educator, for a deeper understanding of nature. The itinerary will be chosen with the rest of the group, although weather conditions may change the plan.
Recommended clothing: Snow excursions require good training, it is recommended to wear layered clothing. A waterproof jacket, a pile or heavy sweater, Ski pants (or summer pants with tights underneath and windbreaker on top), warm socks, trekking shoes (waterproof are preferred – no moon boots), leggings, backpack, sunglasses, gloves, hat, windproof and warm clothing to change.
Walking with snowshoes: the snowshoes are used to not collapse in the snow, the excursion is not as tiring as with the skis. On top of the shoes, there is a crampon that helps with ice and snow. To wear snowshoes, you can use trekking or waterproof mountain boots that keep you warm during excursions. The walks are easy and natural, they do not require any specific preparation. The guide will always accompany you and will adapt to the rhythm of the group. Snowshoeing is beneficial and distensive.
